Post Toyota FT-86 and G's (Gazoo) FT-86 to Debut at Australian International Motor Show!

Since Geneva's International Car Show the Toyota FT-86 has appeared at several car shows without making blockbuster headlines. Beijing China, Paris, and most recently in United Kingdom. Today Australian automotive sites were set ablaze when Toyota Australia confirmed the Toyota FT-86 G (Gazoo) Sports Concept and its unmodified sibling will make their debut on October 15th at the Australian International Motor Show in Sydney. Australia is home to some of the most dedicated AE86 fanatics and so this news is welcoming after Subaru Australia shot down the "RWD Toyobaru" back in October 2010.

Gazoo Racing has not offered any technical details of their FT-86 G Sports concept, so performance and engine output remains a mystery. However said info, along with official confirmation by Toyota is ripe for the picking at such an event considering the recent trademarks, "FR-S" and "86" filed by Toyota

Well done West! I got this info from an Australian news feed site a little while ago. So, I was super keen to be the first to post the item up on this Site, my heart all a flutter, I log in super quick - only to find you have beaten me to the punch - line! You are unbeatable (like a Hilux!). Anyway, I reckon we are only seeing the Gazoo version because the standard road car will be about to be released for sale by then...and I have just ordered the FT-86 concept scale model from HWJapan today!

Toyota is aiming to wow crowds at this year's Australian International Motor Show with a hot new concept car.
The Toyota FT-86G Sports Concept is designed to connect with younger drivers and promote the fun of sports-car driving.
It is the second concept car that provides strong clues to a next-generation rear-wheel-drive sports coupe to be produced by Toyota.
The original FT-86 show car was revealed at last year's Tokyo Motor Show.
By comparison, the FT-86G Sports Concept has undergone an aggressive styling and performance makeover.
It has sharper metalwork including a new front end with a large air intake and vented bonnet, while the rear sports a large carbon-fibre wing, diffuser and oversized twin exhausts.
Underneath the skin, the FT-86G Sports Concept retains the front-engine, rear-drive layout of a classic sports car.
At the same time, Toyota has significantly upped the ante on performance for the "G" with a specially tuned turbocharged engine.
It also sits on 19-inch Bridgestone rubber while the interior gains Recaro seats.
The Australian International Motor Show is being held in Sydney during October.
