The Toyota FT-86 had seemingly gone into hiding, however we just learned it had slipped under the radar and recently made its debut in China, for the Auto China 2010, Beijing International Automotive Exhibition, or for short the Beijing Auto Show 2010.
With Geneva ending March 14th, the FT-86 has finally reappeared, some three weeks later. Will this be the last showing the world gets prior to its release in 2012? Time will tell and until then, the FT-86 will strut its stuff in China, among the masses of Initial D fans and Trueno/Levin supporters. America, don't hold your breathe, the FT-86 is now even closer to home. ![]() ![]() ![]()

Lost and found.
I'm amazed we didn't hear of this before now. So much for additional R&D? |

Not sure if anyone remembers, but there was a thread about the FT-86 gas filler door and location of the gas tank. Well, just as I had said previously: they built the concept with a fuel cell in the trunk. I'm sure it will be on one of the sides in final production...

Ditto. It's soooo nice looking and equally functional I'm sure. I'd like to see a variation of that make it to production, but I won't get my hopes up too much.
That's what I was thinking. Actually Japanese companies frequently debut cars at American cars shows. I'm not too sure though why they aren't bringing it to America yet. It miiiight have to do with the mess they are in right now. It would be wise for them to let that blow over some more and debut a more production ready version next year. Maybe in Detroit. Although LA would be a good place for the debut seeing how the car will no doubt sell very well in that part of the country. |

When doesn't the U.S.A get the shaft pertaining to Autos? ....oh..wait..that's because of green-ass auto regs...not manufactorers....wow.....imagine the bad-ass fords that would be in the U.S and other JDM cars....if not for regs....Follow rally anyone?
Ken Blocks new Ford Gymkhana car...only detune to 600hp from 800+ (RS500 not going to U.S etc..). Sorry..back to topic...gas on right will be Subaru..gas on left will be Toyo..let's see..ya..."right" |

Yes we don't always get the best models of every car...but consider the alternative is $7.00/ gallon gas, it's not that bad.
