Red face FT-86 Re-Design Nothing but Speculation According to Toyota Execs

Another day, another Toyota FT-86 redesign rumor dismissed. According to Toyota Execs that talked with Edmund's Inside Line the rumors of the Toyota FT-86 redesign was nothing but "total speculation".

However interesting is the fact that the date is indicated as 2013, which rumored with the same wild redesign rumors. We will let you believe what you want. Just remember Andrea Formica's announcement at Geneva stated "We will introduce the FT-86 in early 2012".

Update: Inside Line contacted Greg Thome, communications manager for the Toyota division in the U.S. He characterized the below report as "total speculation."

"We have no further information to offer on the car beyond the fact that it's a concept vehicle," he said.

* 2013 Toyota FT-86: This entry-level, rear-wheel-drive sports car is being jointly developed with Subaru. Shown as a concept at the 2009 Tokyo Auto Show, the production model is expected to arrive by the end of 2011 or early 2012. Some rumors suggest it has been delayed to address styling issues, but Toyota officials tell us that is nothing but speculation.

Yea, the release is so damn far out. 2012 had our hopes up for lots of action in 2011, but 2013 is killer

If the rest of it is speculation I would think the 2013 release date is as well. By years end I think we should see a bit more concrete evidence from Toyota.
