Talking Canada FT-86/086A Chat Thread

I've seen a few Canadian members online so why not start an exclusive thread for us Click the image to open in full size.

I know many WRX and STi owners throughout Ontario and B.C. There's a ton of JDM support throughout the Great White North. I bet once these two cars come out, Canada will be receiving a ton of inventory!

So feel free to post whatever you want. Lets get it started!

Hey Drperry!

Finally another poster in Canada =)

What are you driving right now?

Yeah I know, my CRV corners terribly compared to my RSX.

Btw where are you located?

I'm currently rockin' a 2005 Chevy Blazer 4x4! Yay me! lol
At least it's a stick shift!
But it's still sluggish...
195 HP and 260ft/lbs doesn't do much when you weigh 4400lbs...

I'm over in Alberta, livin' the dream in GP, lol.

Total Spankage...

The best part of the game was the fact the Crowd did not use that gay Pepsi Cheer.. "Eh Oh Canada Go"... what were they thinking...

As for the FT-86. Can't wait to drive one.

And people were harping on crosby eh? what was all that.

As for the FT86, I would love to get my hands on one of these, would be hella cool to turbo.

I'm currently rocking a JDM 1991 Celica GT4RC and an 04 Sierra crew cab, but I'm probably going to be selling that to pick up a first gen 4runner with the pop top on the back, man I love those things.... Anyone in the kingston area want a crecab pick up?

You will hear opinions heavily favoring the FT-86 on here Get the FT86 Of course that sounds like it more depends on your situation. If you can wait, do so.

No kidding! The new rear is much better. The LED are ok... they don't really bug me. Even if they end up selling this version as a sports package, I think I'll be up for it.

Now to confirm my puchase with the long awaited specs.............

Who could blame you with gas costing an animal sacrifice a gallon.

19/29? I would hope a 2.0 turbo or NA could manage the same mileage as a 3.6 V6. If not then we all will keep getting by the oil companies.

Edit: Fuck, just realized the 240 gets worse gas mileage than the V6 camaro 17/28 vs 19/29 and has a lot less hp 155 crank vs 306 crank.

lmao

Even the Camaro SS gets better mileage than my truck...

Those boxer engines aren't the best on gas mileage

The V6 Camaro is rated for 19/33

The 2.5L Impreza is rated for 21/31

Ah well I figured all the mods it would have would kill the mileage anyways. Who knows by then maybe someone would have come up to a liquid alternative to gas that is cheap, easy to produce.

Then again according to the 1950's we were supposed to have flying cars by 2010 so maybe not.

You can make your car run on other things... It just usually doesn't run well, lol

Oh me too...currently driving an old Volvo I bought for a few grand. In a few years, I'll be able to more comfortably afford this. I was oh-so-very close to getting a Genesis Coupe but deciding to wait!

And hello, fellow Canucks!

This car is supposed to get 30+ mpg highway. Still, not great. If it weighs under 2800 lbs, it will handle much better than a camaro at about 1,000 lbs more. American "muscle" is usually only good in a straight line, if that's your flavor, I'd say go for it. The ft86 will still be quick, but the specs aren't out yet really. We should know more in the next few months though.

A v6 Camaro can get the same or better mileage... Heck, the V8 is within spitting distance, lol.

You don't buy any type of sports car for gas mileage... It's more of a bonus! lol

With the new tech on it, I'd like to see what real people will get. Meaning, you might do ok in a v8 driving around, but getting on it at all and it goes -12 mpg. With an efficient boxer, you might drop mpg with throttle, but it won't be as bad with the added dual injection, etc. I owned a 2000 celica gt (1zz) and it would get 32 mpg average and even when getting on it constantly, it would still get 28 mpg easy or more. The car was light and efficient (it was lowered an inch, which does help cg some). I don't want this car to be that light/efficient type of build because the zz engines aren't that stout. My synchro's were not in good shape after 80,000 miles and only 40,000 miles of my driving. I've put 100,000 on my rolla in my driving and it's about to tac up to 250,000 miles! I drove it pizza delivery for almost 3 years full-time and another year part-time. Still same engine, clutch, and tranny working well. I don't care if it only gets 27 mpg if it's stronger than an ox!!!
