Subie FTW. Both have proven track records and it will be nice to see the Subie and Toyota communities come together.
If the 2 were sitting beside each other and I had to pick one, I would for whatever reason always find myself hopping into the Subie although I can't explain why (assuming same price and same engine - only diff being RWD and AWD). I like both but it is as if my legs just slowly walk me towards the Subie. Kind of like a Ouija Board Game if anyone catches my drift. I have this similar scenario when choosing between the EVO vs STI scenario as well. While both are amazing cars, I just find myself walking to the Subaru lol. Anyone else feel the same way? I think that is part of the reason why the Subie is ahead in the poll. Thanks |

i'd buy either. gotta see finished product. been planning on toyota, subaru concept looked good, but the spy shots of the subaru make me question the lines underneath the cover. not sure a beautiful car is under there.

I said FT-86 but that is contingent on wether or not the toyota has the turbo. If it only comes with the n/a engine, I will probably wait for the subaru. The issue is that there is no subaru version to make a direct comparison in the looks dept and I REALLY like the FT-86 as it is now...

I've bought three Subies from the same dealership over the last 4 years... I would go back and buy the Suby version.

Since I have an 04' STi, I would get the version that is RWD. If Subaru makes a RWD, than I'll get the Subie. If not, than the Toyota.

i mean this is why the decision to have 2 of pretty much the same car makes NO sense! NONE WHATSOEVER! if toyota was trying to save their scion brand then this is a good way but who is going to buy a scion over a subaru? i personally wouldn't. they are stepping on each others toes here. why isn't the subaru awd?!

You better check out the latest Motor Trend !!!!!!!!According to Subaru product manager TOSHIO MASUDA, the Subie will be RWD only ( NO AWD) . To me that is a bad mistake. Also turbo may come later, still up in the air !!!!!!!!!!!!! |

Kind of a tough call: if the Subaru is the same price I would go with it. I've already got a Toyota and I always go with my friend to the local Subaru meets (he has an '01 Impreza RS with a full '04 STi drivetrain swap), so silly as it may sound I think it would be nice to have a car that could fit in... Comparatively the Toyota meets are usually 90% Scions peppered with a couple Celicas and MR2s.
I will say this: If either car gets any less than 28mpg combined with the boxer motor, I will not be getting either. Gas prices are the only reason I don't own a Subaru right now... |

Subaru - I don't even know where the Toyota dealer is right now. But if Subaru don't sell the thing, I suppose I'd have to go and find it.

For me depends who makes the engine, and the setup .. I think if the internals are all the same then I'll pick based on looks,
I'm personally a Toyota Fan, never been a big fan of subys, Just known too many people with problems with them, maybe just my luck ... but everyone on here seems to say they're good. but i only want the RWD setup, turbo would be nice, I think it'll be a nice drift collectors car. |

Actually I could see my local importers taking the view that only the Toyota would sell - as it wouldn't compete with anything else in their line up, whereas a Subaru coupe would take sales away from the Impreza...

I would have to go with the Toyota. It just looks a little bit more aggressive compared to the Subaru.

Oops, I'd always thought your "signature pic" was the final concept design for the 086a. My bad.
