Do they ALL have wings? Evo RS anyone?
Please note. The RS was/is a bad mofo in that it was super light with no radio, no speakers, no sound insulation, roll up windows, no power locks and stripped out everything. It is most easily noticed by its lack of wing and black mirrors. Purists love them right down to the lack of ABS. Am I the only one who hopes there is an equivalent of the Toyobaru?

Hell no, you aren’t alone! I’d love to see a purist’s form of the FT86 or 086a. In its concept form it already appears to be "near" that. However I don’t feel a moonroof degrades the overall firmness of the frame. Additionally, I will not buy a car without Power Windows/Locks, but really that is probably already on the Evo RS.

No, my RS was about as hard core and spartan as they come. No power ANYTHING, the car even has different part numbers for the glass as its thinner to save weight. Mine in full go trim and a full tank of gas was 3155lbs with a corner balance within 1/2% of perfection. In part I am very sad about letting it go but hey.. the lack of liveability was in part why it was easy to get rid of.
Maybe I just need to break down and get a track car and a street car? Last edited by dsycks; 02-26-2010 at 12:43 PM. |

Y'all purists have fun. I will gladly keep my a/c, power everything (except seats) radio and all that.

I have a few very long threads on evo suspension at EvoM. I did some work with Steve at Zzyzx on his EM Sport system with one of the first two sets made for the evo on my car. It was quite lush.
This is why I am very excited to see what the final configuration of the suspension will be for this car. I am thinking Moton club sports for my next ride... yum! |

BREMBOS all the way, I'd prefer an FR that gets squirrley when stomped on, more fun to drive

Thanks one day my kouki will be even cleaner, and I agree fully. I hate power seats so much. It's so much quicker for me just to adjust it myself.

LSD is by far the most important thing on that list. Everything else is aftermarket.

I voted moonroof/sunroof.
Why? Every sports car needs a sunroof. When tilted it can give a car that classic "flowing" look. Plus you can get some air without that loud whistling in your ear on the highway. Navigation- Getting lost is how i find cool places. Factory aero/lip kit- USDM will probably look like poo and ill end up smashing it to bits anyway. LSD-Too little info. What KIND of lsd? vlsd? no thanks. hlsd? mabey.. 2 way would be great, but i doubt that will happen from factory.. Leather seats- Legs stick while wearing shorts. Need i say more? TRD wheels- I would like to pick my own wheels thankyou. Brembo big brakes- I like my stopping power. But why wouldnt the factory smaller brakes be made to match what the car is capable of? If your locking up the brakes all the time/or ABS is kicking in constantly the big brakes are not going to do you any good. If anything the turbo models should come with ONLY brembo brakes, if the tiny ones are not good enough to stop it from speed. A sunroof is a simple thing that makes a sports car what it is. A connection between the driver and his surroundings. |

Other then that, screw a sun roof. I was actually lol at the fact anyone actually voted for that. No offense. I'm sure most will have sunroofs though because chicks like sunroofs and this car will def. be marketed towards women. |

why dont you like sunroofs?
are you bald and dont want a sunburned head? there is nothing bad about them unless they are poorly designed so it weakens the chassis. |

Sunroofs = weight I don't want
though bersh had good points about some of the other things I'd still have to go with either the brakes or the lsd whether it's hlsd or even vlsd, better than none no one tire fires kthnxxx and 2 ways id only want if it was like strictly a drift car

Weight is cool to me. I don't plan on having a track car. Just a car that is fun but meets all my creature comfort requirements. If I had a track slut then I could cut out all that stuff, sunroof, A/C etc. However if I did have a track slut it would a car that is old/easily replaceable.

ahh the weight. good point.. wieght up up top isnt that great for handling.
i forgot new cars just HAVE TO HAVE all the electro open close/tilt stuff. i like my s13's sunroof. want it open?? pop 3 plastic clips and put it in the trunk. you want to tilt it? Push up. but still. i would want a sunroof. |

some are. some arnt.
i think all s14s are sans... but anyone ever seen an s13 without a sunroof ?the roof is like paper. and it flexs while your driving sometimes. its fun to watch from the passenger seat when theres no headliner. so sometimes a sunroof stiffens things up. do to the need for bracing for the added weight. its all in the design of the thing. if toyota/subaru do a good job then... why not? |

Sans means without. S14's were available sunroofs. BOTH of my S13's were sans (without) sunroofs. And yes the roofs are thin. One of the reasons the car is so light. |
