This is a huge leap for apple. I just upgraded my phone to OS 4 beta through my developers connection. The multitasking is truly brilliant, and the way they let you create folders by dragooning icons onto each other is truly awesome. The game center just makes laugh, but i can't wait till they upgrade the OS for appletv.

Yes I'm an apple fan boy, most web/developers are

Can you describe the multitasking? How is it different from backgrounder?

So I've had the Golden Master iOS v4 since the recent WWDC, 4.0 apps were just given the ok for approvals a few days ago so it's now in the hands of the developers. The OS is awesome, I love the recent additions, however the hardware is the key. You need the iPhone 4 to really get everything. Now I need to figure out how to get one without paying full price thanks to my contract. I need a 720p camera, the iPhone is that and will always be in my pocket. I can live with the quality, a picture is better than a moment missed.

Knowledge is power

I debating biting the bullet and buying this one or waiting for the next one next summer when my contract allows for the 2 year upgrade price. Like West said I must have an iPhone. It is the greatest purchase I have made in years. I am saving up for an Ipad, and eventually want a Macbook Pro.

I <3 Apple.

I <3 Apple.
The iPhone plants the Apple seeds which makes you go broke for years to come. However, I can't think of any products which make me happier with exception of my AppleTV, but there is hope for that since google announced their google tv device. Good thing to do is resale your apple goods every two years since their value sticks for YEARs.

I don't know a single person who isn't happy with their iPhone. Maybe ATT, but not the iPhone.

Angry I will be the first person you know who doesn't like her iPhone

I have a 3G and I dislike it a lot. It's slow as hell. It got slow after the upgrade that allowed me to send picture messages and copy and paste. I haven't done the factory reset, I just keep forgetting, plus it's annoying because I have to put everything back on my phone and change everything the way I want it to be again. When I hit an app, I want it to open, not lag. Other times I'll be typing and it won't type but then after a few seconds all the letters will come out (in the right order) at once.

I lobve mine. I can't see myself with another phone. I honestly cannot imagine a phone that could make me switch.

I have a 3GS and it is a complete difference from the 3G. Apps just open and close with breeze. Even things like the SMS loads faster on the 3GS.

Which makes me wonder what the 4 will be like since it is running a faster processor.

On friday I lost my 3gs .

After shitting several bricks, I went into a mad search for the thing. No such luck. I had my boss call it, straight voicemail.Click the image to open in full size.

After getting home from work I started making all kind of moves to either get another one or find a way to to pay for the 4. I call it, straight to VM still. Thinking it may have overheated and shut off or been crushed, my roommate and I go out an search for it. We search in all the places that I have been at work which isn't many. After looking in the last place I call it again. It RINGS!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Then someone rejects the call.Click the image to open in full size. I call back immediately to find the phone has been turned off again.:-/

The pure dissapointment I felt was startling. I had never been so crushed at losing a phone before. That's when I realized this is not just a phone anymore. It has become so much more. I know a lot of people hate it, but I love the thing, but that is not what this is about so no "omg iphone suxs!!/omg iphone pwns all!!!" type of crap.

Dismayed I return home and search the webs, make a thread on Zilvia, (so thankful for all the premie help I got) and try not to feel bothered. I ended up with several choice, either spend money I don't have for a 4, use my friend's 3G or ebay stalk till I was able to find one between 220-280.

I last ditch effort and call my pops and ask him to call AT&T to see if they can track the phone. I call it again just for the hell of it and it rings.....but no one picks up.Click the image to open in full size.. I tell my friend to send text messages giving my google voice number to text if it is found. Knowing that they would be able to see the message even though they couldn't get into the phone. I check my google voice. Nada.

He makes a joke about sending a text saying something like "your money is under the bush" or something to that nature, that gives me an idea. I tell him to send a text for a $50 reward. I keep checking my Google Voice to see if any messages, none.

Fuck.Click the image to open in full size.

I am sitting at the PC looking at ebay phones again, when my roommate calls my phone and someone picks up!!!

It is our other roommate/friend, wait wut?

He says the phone was turned in to where he works (student union) by a worker at one of the food places. He said the worker asked about the reward and he responded with "You can facebook him about that but give me the phone" knowing him this was probably said with a menacing tone that signaled ass whooping if the phone wasn't handed over.

At hearing this news my relief was immediate.Click the image to open in full size.

Even though I was quite happy, I was also curious as to why did the worker decide to turn it in now. Why turn the phone off earlier in the day? Why reject my call when I call it from another number? Why keep the phone off all day? Why not answer it when it gets turned back on? Why not send a text to the number I texted to send on the phone?

Hmmm, anyone think it has to do with the $50 reward I threw out?

In closing, if you have an Iphone either get the mobile me service ($100 a year for the ability to track, remote disable, blah blah etc.) or for us cydia people Ilocalis ($30 bucks a year, for almost the same thing)

Apple FTWClick the image to open in full size.

P.S. Yall think I should give out the reward?

I am looking at it like this. The phone could have been returned all morning. When I call it the person rejected the call and turned the phone off. Why turn it in when a reward is mentioned if you had planned to turn it in from the get go?

I am a very ethical person, had I found the one, the first time someone called it I would have answered and arranged a meeting.

I am still debating this.

Nice! I love last min replacements. Makes your purchase seem extremely justified.

Can someone make my iPhone restore quicker. I am reverting to non Jailbroken state

Primarily because I dont really care about what is has to offer now that 4.0 is here. Ill miss SBSSettings, and thats about it.

For your iPhone 3GS on 4.0 ONLY go to JailbreakMe from Safari on your phone (as long as its still active). It basically uses a PDF exploit to gain access to root and JB's your phone. Kind of scary, they fixed it in 4.02, although you can download a hack that fixes it on your JB phone.

My roommate said the same thing. Honestly SBSSettings is my favorite application. That was one of my largest gripes about the phone. Trivial I know. I am a bit curious(weary) of the Jailbreakme site, but I will research it and see what others are saying. I very much want to upgrade off of 3.1.2.
