Angry Income Taxes

Who's finished their taxes already?

And if you are lucky enough to get a refund, what will you be buying?

Or will you save for the downpayment on the FT-86?

I'd love to get money back.

This year will be different because we'll have a child to claim!

Hahha. I know the feeling. I've thought about doing that myself.

In effect, he is giving the Government an interest-free loan of his money.

What you want to try and do is calculate your withholdings to closely match your projected income, so come April 15th you neither owe a large amount or get a large refund (of your own money).

I would prefer to pay a reasonable amount and have my money during the year to do and spend as I wish.

In Australia, unless you are self employed, it only works one way. The Govt takes its share of tax from every payslip you recieve during the year, and then depending on what work related expences you can claim you incurred, you can recieve a refund of part (never all!) the tax you have paid during that year.

Thanks for the reminder. Now I don't need that string on my finger to help remember.
