BP Oil Spill

What do y'all think about it?

I'm afraid of the inevitable gas spike.

Article for those who have been living under a rock.

I'm tired of hearing about it on the news, so I figured why not get some intelligent discussion on it.

It's one of the risks of drilling and being forced by the government to drill that far offshore at a depth of a mile only increases the risk for an accident.

If oil companies were allowed to drill on land or in shallow water it would be a whole lot safer.

Saw this today and it puts it into perspective.

Fuck the trade offs RJF, the amount of money dumped into oil there should be fail safes for this, even at extreme depths.

WOW

I agree a bit with both of you. Drilling should be allowed closer to shore, but there should definitely be tighter standards and fail safes. There is no excuse for something like this to happen.

I agree. What is even worse is that they want to drill deep water near Alaska which would become hopeless if another disaster happens. We need to get off our dependence on oil. I hope BP takes responsibility for their actions while we dab our feet in goo balls on the beach this summer.
