I think another part of my statement above is that the motor would pretty well need to be in some sort of turbo form from the factory to make a lower compression ratio and aftermarket monster format work. CR is part of the equation but its also about electronics and manifolds and ICs and packaging.

I think that it will, but I think that might be a few models that won't. Take the Nissan Silvia's in Japan for instance. The top of the line model came with a turbo I4 that had an 8:5:1 compression ration, but they had lower end models of the car that came NA and had higher ratios. I think this one will follow a similar format, so tons of people can go "oh how cute" and buy the lower end model leave the higher priced turbo models to us. That way they can still makes sales quota.
