Please note that they would need to come up with a fully different system of AWD as their transmission packaging simply will not allow it as it stands in this chassis. This would make the car VERY expensive and not viable.
In addition, Suby will NOT make a car that can beat its WRX STi. As such the most you can expect is WRX power and not STi power. I actually have doubts about any turbo that is not placed there by the aftermarket.
Speaking of the aftermarket... they will take care of the turbo for you. 400+hp cars will be on tap within 6 months of launch.

Well said (again) You get new member of the month award
Think about how the engine has been placed further in the engine bay of the FT-86. AWD from might require more work than Subaru would want to invest in. Although the flipside would mean the car would indeed be unique. That all depends if they can fit the AWD components in the already compact bay.
Good point on the STi. They could brand this car as an STi, but knowing the rumored specs of an STi model it sounds like it would already whoop the STi, simply because its weight. Even if the STi is a far suprior in terms of technology. At least it would put to rest the constant whine of the "Top Heavy" WRX/STi.
Aftermarket is already in a tizzy for this car, but please bring a factory turbo Toyota/Subaru!!
